Our Story
A Legacy of Purity.
A Promise Kept for 80 Years.
“In our family, we never asked what was in the food. We knew — because we made it ourselves, with our own hands, from ingredients we trusted with our lives.”
— The Founding Family, Sree Kumaran Foods1945. A small farm.
A belief that changed everything.
The year was 1945. India was on the cusp of independence, and in the heart of Tamil Nadu, a family made their own quiet declaration — that the food they fed their children would always be honest, pure, and made with love.
Our founder, a man of deep faith and even deeper principles, watched the world begin to change. He saw adulteration creep into markets. He saw shortcuts replace care. And he made a decision that would define his family for eight decades: we will never compromise.
From that single conviction, Sree Kumaran Foods was born — not as a business, but as a belief. A belief that every family deserved to eat the way our ancestors ate. Pure. Nourishing. Real.
“The man who adulterates food adulterates the trust of the family that eats it. We will never be that man.”
When the world modernised, we held on.
Decades passed. The food industry changed around us — faster machines, cheaper ingredients, longer shelf lives. One by one, brands chose efficiency over integrity. We chose differently.
We kept the bilona method — hand-churning curd from A2 desi cow milk at dawn, because no machine can replicate what patient hands and time create.
We kept the wooden cold press — the chekku — turning slowly, extracting oil without heat or chemicals, because the seed holds everything a body needs.
And we kept the heritage grains — Mappillai Samba, Karupu Kavuni, Kattuyanam, Thooyamalli — varieties Tamil Nadu’s farmers never stopped growing.
Eight Decades of an Unbroken Promise
What we swore to our founder.
What we swear to you.
Today, we are in thousands of kitchens. The promise is the same.
Mothers who feed our ghee to their newborns. Grandmothers who recognise the aroma of our sesame oil from their own childhoods. Young families returning to traditional food after years of processed eating — and finding, to their relief, that real food still exists.
We receive messages every day from customers who tell us they can taste the difference. That our ghee smells like the ghee their grandmother made. That their children’s health has improved. That for the first time in years, food tastes like food again.
Those messages are why we exist. They are the reason we have never once been tempted to cut a corner, lower a standard, or choose profit over purity.
“We are not just selling food. We are carrying forward eighty years of a family’s promise — that what reaches your table will always be worthy of your trust.”
Every jar, every bottle, every packet carries this story — eighty years of a family refusing to compromise, delivered to your door.
