Godhumai Kanji
A warming wheat porridge cooked in milk — sweet, creamy, strengthening. The breakfast recommended for children, elders, and anyone who needs sustained energy through the morning.
Ingredients
| Sree Kumaran Roasted Wheat Flakes | ¾ cup |
| Full fat milk | 2 cups |
| Water | 1 cup |
| Jaggery or sugar | 2 tbsp |
| Cardamom powder, salt | ¼ tsp each |
Method
- Bring milk and water to a gentle boil in a saucepan.
- Add wheat flakes and a pinch of salt. Stir continuously on medium heat for 8–10 minutes until thick and creamy.
- Add jaggery and cardamom. Stir until dissolved. Serve warm with a drizzle of ghee if desired.
Roasted wheat flakes cook much faster than cracked wheat and have a deeper, nuttier flavour. This kanji is especially recommended for children who need sustained energy without the blood sugar spike of refined cereals.
